Student Life Center Capital Campaign

God has blessed our school beyond what we could have asked or imagined. The growing number of Caldwell graduates strengthens our commitment to train godly leaders who will stand firm and offer biblical wisdom in a time of great uncertainty. Classical Christian education meets a tremendous need, and Caldwell Academy has been meeting that need in our community for over 29 years.

By God's grace, we have a wonderful opportunity to expand in a number of areas. Caldwell’s Strategic Plan includes the plans to build a Student Life Center that will serve as the focal point for all school activities and community gatherings, enabling the ongoing expansion of our school.

Greensboro, January 12, 2024. Caldwell Academy, a TK-12th Grade classical, Christian school, has received the largest one-time gift in the school’s history. Mr. Doug S. Witcher and Ms. Carly Wrenn, Caldwell Academy parents, have made a gift of $4 million to the school’s new Student Life Center.

The new Student Life Center is part of Caldwell’s master plan and strategic vision for school growth and community building. This 40,000-square-foot facility will not only include a state-of-the-art competitive gymnasium and various athletic amenities, but will also serve as a venue for Caldwell to host all major school and community events, including Veterans Day and Grandparents’ Day.

Witcher is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Smart Choice, the fastest growing insurance agency network in the nation with over 9,750 independent agencies, and has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Witcher has chosen to embrace philanthropy in both his personal life and within his company, opting to contribute and give back to others.

Witcher shared his enthusiasm for this project and stated “We made this gift because of the impact that Caldwell’s classical, Christian education has made and continues to have on our daughter’s life. We are excited about the future of Caldwell and how this Student Life Center will help build community for years to come. We hope this gift will encourage others to join us in making the Student Life Center a reality for Caldwell Academy.”

Dr. Tim Holland, Caldwell Academy Head of School, elaborated on the generosity and importance of this gift to Caldwell. “We are so grateful for this gift to Caldwell that will transform our school community as we continue to fulfill our mission. The Student Life Center will function as the focal point for all school activities and community gatherings, enabling us to facilitate the ongoing expansion of our school.”
