The Classical Difference

A strong classical Christian education uses fine points of language and encourages students to engage with the works of the greatest minds in the Western world. Classical learning focuses heavily on ideas, a practice central to our design as rational, thinking creatures who bear God’s image.
Curriculum
Your child will engage with the ideas that have shaped history by reading great literature and original texts and exploring the rich connections between history, science, mathematics, language, theology, and the arts. Through the study of Latin and an integrated, interdisciplinary curriculum, students learn to think critically, communicate clearly, and see all knowledge as part of a coherent, God-ordered world.

The Teacher as Mentor

Preparing for A Life of Purpose and Impact
The ultimate aim of a classical Christian education is that your child would become more fully who God created them to be. As students grow in wisdom and virtue, they develop the habits of lifelong learning, creative problem-solving, and thoughtful engagement with the world around them. They learn to think across disciplines, communicate with clarity and eloquence, and pursue their God-given calling with confidence, prepared to flourish and faithfully follow Jesus Christ.
Senior Thesis
The Senior Thesis is the culminating experience of a Caldwell education. Beginning in the junior year, students work closely with a faculty mentor to explore a meaningful topic, conduct research, and develop an original argument. As seniors, they write and publicly defend a 10–15 page thesis, demonstrating the ability to think critically, communicate eloquently, and engage the world with wisdom and conviction.
Grammar Recitation
Grammar students have the opportunity to stand and recite poems, Scripture, chants, speeches, and other memorized works that are thoughtfully chosen for their age and stage of development. In the classical tradition, recitation cultivates confidence, attentiveness, joyful learning, and the ability to hide beautiful and meaningful words in the heart and mind.
