Varsity Golf Wraps up the Season with a 3rd place Finish at the State Championship

The Caldwell Varsity Golf Team competed in the NCISAA Division III State Championship tournament on Monday May 15 at The Champions Course of Bryan Park. The Eagles golfers finished the season in the final tournament of the year with a 3rd place showing. Gaston Day School repeated as the State Champion team while firing a team score of (-3) 213. The O'Neal School grabbed the State Runner Up position only two shots behind at 215. The Eagles were paced by Daniel Norris, who completed his round at even par, 72, which was also good for a tie for 3rd in the individual standings. Zachary Kupiec carded a +3 over 75, and Freddy Ortmann completed the course at (+7) 79 strokes. Additional congratulations to Zachary Kupiec who earned the distinctive honor of All State, (based on a players regular season and Qualifier round). Way to go Zach!!
