For most families, the application process begins through an introduction to our school. You may have heard about us from friends, family, fellow church members, or perhaps you located us online or drove by our campus. We recommend you schedule a campus visit to learn more about our school and community. We offer a variety of events to help you get to know and understand Caldwell. For more information, inquire online or call us at 336-665-1161.
Get to Know Us
We encourage all families who are researching our school to talk with families who have children currently enrolled or who have graduated from Caldwell. This is the best way to learn about us, in addition to taking a tour. Check out our website, follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
Submit an Application
Your admissions file is opened once we receive an application and fee. See the Admissions Procedures page for a sample list of what elements are needed, depending on the applicant's grade.
Testing
Students applying for grades Transitional Kindergarten through the first grade participate in a developmental assessment. Students applying for grades 2-11* participate in an academic assessment that is administered on campus.
Interview
The family or parent interview is a vital part of the admissions process. Once the application checklist is complete, we meet with both parents (and students, if applying to grades 6-11*). The interview provides a time for us to get to know one another more personally and an opportunity for you to ask questions. To make the most of your partnership with us, it is important to understand what we do and why we do it. We require all families to read the following booklet prior to their interview: An Introduction to Classical Education by Christopher A. Perrin
Timing
Typically, the process begins in the fall of the academic year prior to the year the applicant hopes to attend. While applications are accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis and spaces are offered as available, it is best to begin the process by January or February to allow for the best transition for the student. If a class is full, you can elect to remain in the wait pool. If a seat opens up before the beginning of the third quarter, we can place your student.
Located in Greensboro, N.C., Caldwell Academy is a private, classical Christian day school for grades TK-12.
