Lower School

Caldwell Academy’s Kindergarten through fifth grade comprise the Lower School (Grammar School). In the Grammar stage of a child’s development, children delight in discovering and memorizing new knowledge, and we believe that God created them to be naturally curious at this age.

We Believe Your Child Is Created in the Image of God
At Caldwell Academy, we believe every child is uniquely created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him. Throughout their years in the Grammar School, students are grounded in the truth of Scripture and encouraged to see all of life through a biblical worldview. Through Bible instruction, Scripture memorization, prayer, and daily classroom experiences, students grow in their understanding of God's Word and His love for them.
Nurturing a God-Given Love of Learning
Young children are naturally curious, and we believe that curiosity is a gift from God. During the Grammar School years, students delight in discovering new ideas, building foundational knowledge, and developing habits of attention and wonder. Through engaging lessons, songs, chants, stories, and memorization, students gain a rich understanding of subjects ranging from mathematics and language arts to history and science. As they learn, they develop the confidence, discipline, and joy that lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning.
Lessons That Engage, Challenge, and Inspire
Students thrive when learning is active, meaningful, and connected to the world around them. Throughout the Grammar School years, children build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills through lessons that encourage them to see, hear, discuss, and apply what they are learning. Rich classroom experiences, a well-stocked library, and thoughtfully selected field trips help bring learning to life, deepening understanding and fostering a lasting love of discovery.
