Caldwell Academy was founded in 1994 by a group of dedicated parents who envisioned a school with strong academic programs taught from a Christian worldview. Their vision was shaped into a statement of our mission:to assist parents from a Biblical perspective in the instruction of their children by providing a classical and Christian education. Today Caldwell’s mission and instructional approach continue to prove unique among schools throughout the area.
A devoted planning team representing approximately thirty families from thirteen area churches worked for months to prepare for the arrival of our first students in August of 1995. During our first year, sixty-three students in kindergarten through sixth grade attended classes in a space rented from a local church. The school moved to our permanent home on Horse Pen Creek Road in the summer of 1999, adding grades 7 through 12 as we extended our classroom space; we added our preschool campus, located on Air Harbor Road, in the fall of 2013.
As we celebrate 20 years of classical, Christian education in the Triad, we see more than ever the importance of equipping our students with the tools of learning so that they can grow into winsome discerners and communicators of God’s truth. From preschool through twelfth grade, we offer a unified curriculum that furnishes these tools early and increasingly prepares students to use them with grace and wisdom. Ultimately, the goal of Caldwell’s Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric schools is to produce graduates who will act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God. Soli Deo gloria!
